Under the direction of the area Supervisor, responsible for production work according to specifications & established policies, procedures, practices & standards.
Main Job Duties/Responsibilities
Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) & Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as defined by Viant policies, practices & procedures to insure that standards are met
Assembles components
Maybe required to operate packaging machine
Barsealing/Traysealing
Boxes products & applies labeling materials
Participates in Rapid Improvement Events
May be required to perform some specialized skills requiring a minimum degree of technical aptitude
Follows all safety rules
Follows area 5S expectations
Performs other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalent certification preferred
Job Experience
Minimum of 6-12 months’ work experience preferred
Skills/Competencies
Ability to read, understand & follow specification sheets
Basic mathematical skills to understand tolerances & variation
Ability to use measuring devices & hand tools
Positive teamwork attitude
Physical Requirements
Excellent vision & hand-eye coordination
Extended periods of bending, lifting, standing, and sitting
Significant use of hands
Frequently required to lift up to 35 lb, occasionally up to 50
Must be able & willing to wear personal protective equipment as required including: Protective eyewear, ear plugs, hair net, protective gowning (lab coat, hood, shoe covers)
