Your Role

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams globally and have the opportunity to work on next-generation technologies such as automated driving, driver monitoring, and advanced safety systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing software solutions that make a positive impact on people's lives. You should have a strong background in software development, with experience in software design, coding, testing, and debugging. You should also have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. In your daily job you will:

  • Own Global Product Perception Systems (Vision, Radar, USS) data management strategies (how to collect, how to store, how utilize) with an alignment if Aptiv’s overall data management strategy.
  • Accountable for Perception Systems data collection planning and tracking used for Training and Verification for ADAS, parking and interior systems and potentially expanding to other sensor sets (e.g. Lidar).
  • Accountable for Perception Systems data collection vehicle tracking ensuring proper platform hardware and software configuration.
  • Lead data annotation strategies (internal/external) including automated ground truthing strategies.
  • Drive data quality initiatives and any necessary corrective actions utilizing Jira toolset
  • Support Platform Technical Program Managers by developing / executing data management plans that align with their Platform development timelines enabling delivery per Product Roadmap.
  • Lead short term and long term Global Product owned data storage strategies.
  • Align with Engineering optimizing data collection / logging equipment architecture and capital procurement.
  • Define proper balance between real world data and virtual data to be collected
  • Lead data analytics maximizing value of data collected.
  • Ensure applicable data privacy regulations are met, including leading data. desensitizing and data export strategies that both comply with applicable regulations and project needs.
  • Support data harvesting, management strategies associated with localization based functions.
  • Lead data management supplier sourcing recommendations supported by data driven justification based on technical merit, risk and cost.
  • Adhere to ASPICE Level-3 Supplier Management Process (ACQ.4) for suppliers supporting data collection, storage, annotation and any supplier sourced supporting data management.
  • Actively participate in quarterly Big Room Planning events and provide necessary pre-work inputs.
  • Act as lead technical interface to internal and external customers with regards to data topics.
  • Participate and contribute to product strategy and vehicle architecture meetings with other product lines within Global Product.
  • Support technically the Platform Technical Program Manager and the Technical Sales Specialist during Business Pursuits and Pre-RFQ activities.
  • Support Platform Sensing Owners by developing / executing data management plans that align with their Platform Requirements and sensing Feature Roadmaps.
  • Provide requirements to the System, SW, and HW team pertaining to the logging architecture, HW integration, interfaces to the platform tools, etc.
  • Maintain the vehicle checkout procedure and documents buy in from all stakeholders before start of data collection.
  • Maintain lessons learnt and best practices for all data and vehicle management topics such as data privacy, thermal issues, vehicle checkouts, sensor re-calibration, etc.

Your Background

Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:

  • Previous Automotive Technical Experience (10 year minimum)
  • Previous Automotive Data and/or Vehicle Management Experience (3 year minimum
  • Previous cloud based data storage Experience
  • Previous Ground Truth Experience
  • Big Data Set Analytic Methodologies Skillsets
  • Self-Driven and Hands On Contributor
  • Relevant Technical Degree (Masters or PhD preferred)
