As a Technical Writer & Trainer here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement documentation standards, processes, and best practices. Your expertise in technical writing principles, style guides, and industry standards will ensure consistency and adherence to quality guidelines. You will also review and edit technical documents for clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines. This role is Remote with up to 25% of travel.

In this role, you will impact the quality of our technical documentation, team performance, cross-functional collaboration, process efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement in our mechanical/construction space.

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $50,300 - $63,000. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $50,300 - $63,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of high-quality technical documentation for complex products and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure accuracy of technical content
  • Research, analyze, and interpret technical information to create clear and concise documentation
  • Develop and implement documentation standards, processes, and best practices
  • Review and edit technical documents for clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technical writers
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in technical writing tools and methodologies

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Minimum of 6 years of proven experience in technical writing, preferably in a lead or senior role
  • Strong knowledge of technical writing principles, style guides, and documentation standards
  • Proficiency in using authoring tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Experience in leading and mentoring technical writing teams
  • Experience working independently
  • Video narration experience
  • Ability to travel 25% of time
