We are devoted to giving our dogs a healthy and safe environment. As a Training School Kennel Technician, you will perform all daily kennel cleaning and maintenance duties according to established guidelines, provide a high level of animal husbandry care to all dogs in addition to participating in canine enrichment programs.

The Role
Provide a high level of animal husbandry care to all dogs including, but not limited to bathing, feeding, check overs, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and medicating in accordance with established policies and procedures
Clean and maintain equipment, kennel facilities and assigned grounds according to established protocols
Assist Veterinary Department Staff on a variety of tasks including maintaining ears and weights as assigned
Maintain accurate and timely records utilizing point of entry system
Learn how to effectively handle and manage dogs; monitor and control dogs in community run
Work with Kennel volunteers providing support, guidance and recognition. Conduct tours and provide assistance during Graduations.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications You Will Need
Physical stamina with the ability to lift and control 65-75 pound dogs and withstand up to two hours of repetitive bending, stooping, kneeling and squatting on concrete surface
Able to regularly lift and carry portable dog crates and dog pens weighing up to 30 pounds
Experience caring for dogs in a kennel, veterinarian's office or training environment preferred
Reliability, high level of integrity and punctuality are essential
Flexibility in availability is a must including weekends, evenings and holidays as required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Able to work daily with bleach and other cleaning agents
Ability to accurately assess situations and make quick, sound judgements
Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs; Salesforce savvy a plus
Valid Driver's License
