Responsible for developing training programs and career tracks within the Production department.
Develops and maintains the site manufacturing training matrix and helps supervisors keep their shifts “3 deep” on fully trained operators on all core processes.
Collaborate with the plant leadership team and trainers to develop training material.
Oversight of all “on the floor” training with all 3 shifts. Ensures that SOP’s are correct, develops and provides oversight of the “on the job” training, ensures that trainers are training effectively, and performs regular audits on our training programs.
Aligns the training programs and training tracking with the other manufacturing sites within Teknor Apex.
Collaborates with the other manufacturing training professionals at the other Teknor Apex sites to standardize the approach and share best practices.
Participate in our root cause analysis and corrective action process when training gaps are identified.
Advises the plant leadership team of problems/trends and recommends timely solutions and supervises the implementation of required corrective actions.
Promotes teamwork and sustainability to achieve plant objectives.
Acts as a mentor to new employees and assists the on boarding process in the manufacturing department.
Assists the production supervisors in performance reviews.
Is a core member of the 5S audit team to promote plant cleanliness.
Leads and participates in continuous improvement initiatives with the goal of improving plant performance.
Skills / Competencies
Work is substantially complex and varied and requires the selection and application of technical and/or detailed guidelines. Analytic ability is needed to gather and interpret data where results/answers can be found after analysis of several facts.
The ability to prioritize and make decisions impacting production/operational efficiencies.
Computer skills – M3, Microsoft Office and statistical software package for data analysis.
Solid communications skills with the ability to communicate with a wide variety of personnel.
Experience / Education
Position requires between 4-6 years of manufacturing experience.
Minimum of three years in a leadership role within manufacturing.
Solid knowledge of quality systems.
Knowledge of mechanical/technical or business field, which can be acquired through up to eighteen months of education or training beyond the high school level.
