As a Transmission Line Engineer, you will:


  • Develop and apply advanced engineering techniques and concepts to complex problems.
  • Provide technical guidance or supervise engineering staff on projects of low to medium complexity.
  • Develop, validate, and present specialist/technical outputs.


Team and Projects:

Your skills will be aligned with projects across three sectors: Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. You will engage with diverse projects worldwide, from community improvements to large-scale infrastructure developments. Key Responsibilities


Engineering Standards:

  • Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes.
  • Assist in developing and updating engineering standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to project teams.

Quality / Continuous Improvement:

  • Apply and comply with quality programs.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and provide guidance to others.
  • Support continuous improvement and change management initiatives.

Engineering Production:

  • Prepare complex engineering deliverables for multiple projects.
  • Conduct research and develop recommendations for equipment and materials.
  • Oversee data collection, assimilation, and management for engineering work.
  • Perform advanced engineering calculations.
  • Manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Lead larger production teams, coordinate multiple disciplines, and serve as responsible charge for projects.

Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects.

Client Focus:

  • Assist in identifying key client interests and drivers.
  • Communicate client needs to the project team and develop strategies to address them.
  • Support business development activities.

Knowledge Sharing, Innovation, and Technology:

  • Serve as a technical specialist providing consultation and guidance.
  • Support multiple projects on complex technical challenges.
  • Foster knowledge management and mentoring.
  • Develop and apply advanced engineering concepts to unique problems.

People Management:

  • Assist with performance management, mentoring, recognition, and corrective actions.
  • Participate in career planning and learning and development.

Resource Management:

  • Implement resource management strategies.
  • Manage engineering resources for small groups within a single discipline.

Administrative:

  • Handle administrative responsibilities, including office administration.
  • Ensure effective implementation and communication of policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Approve timesheets and expense reports.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with PLS Cadd.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable standards.
  • Previous client interaction experience with strong relationship-building abilities.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Quick thinking on job sites and in front of customers.
  • Good listening skills, customer focus, priority setting, delegation, teamwork, and team building skills.


Desired Experience:

  • Design of utility-scale electrical transmission systems.
  • Structural design of transmission steel structures and foundations.
  • Basic structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years related work experience.
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include a background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
