Job Description:


As a Transmission Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and optimization of transmission networks to ensure the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity across vast regions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will plan, implement, and maintain transmission infrastructure, focusing on enhancing network performance and capacity.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and plan transmission networks, including high-voltage power lines and substations, to support the reliable delivery of electricity.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and network audits to identify areas for improvement and optimization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed transmission planning documentation, including network diagrams and capacity plans.
  • Analyze network performance data and implement solutions to enhance reliability, efficiency, and resilience.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Provide technical support and expertise during network upgrades, expansions, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, technologies, and best practices to ensure the network remains at the forefront of innovation and reliability.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transmission network planning and design within the utility industry.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard tools and software for transmission planning and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of transmission technologies, including AC and DC systems, FACTS devices, and renewable energy integration.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards governing transmission planning and operation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Willingness to relocate to one of our client’s designated office locations across the country.
