Job Summary
You will provide personalized academic instruction to individuals or small groups, either remotely or in person, to support students in various academic subjects. The ideal candidate will excel in communication, possess a strong educational background, be adept at utilizing online resources, and have the ability to engage students effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, IEP team members, and school administration to assess academic needs and develop customized tutoring plans.
Review assignments and course materials, clarify concepts, and re-teach topics as necessary.
Assist students with homework, create additional practice materials, and provide educational aids as needed.
Mentor students, guiding them towards a deeper understanding of subjects and effective study strategies.
Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages student productivity, focus, and engagement.
Maintain detailed records of student progress, assessments, and feedback, ensuring ongoing communication with relevant stakeholders.
Stay updated on tutoring techniques and best practices through participation in training sessions and workshops.
Required Skills And Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with students, parents, and educators.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in various instructional methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Proficient in subject matter or ability to research and demonstrate concepts effectively.
Ability to provide constructive feedback and encouragement to build student confidence.
Familiarity with online teaching platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams) or willingness to learn.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, relevant subject matter, or related field; active PA Instructional Certification preferred.
Current FBI, Child Abuse, and PA Criminal Record clearances or ability to obtain them.
Previous tutoring experience, particularly in remote settings, is advantageous.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
