Unit Coordinator - Emergency Department

Job Description

The ED Care Coordinator is responsible for effective communication with physicians, nurses, and all ancillary departments to ensure continuity of patient care and maintain efficient flow of the department.

SHIFT & SCHEDULE:

Full Time: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Answer multiple phone lines while exhibiting professional phone etiquette.
  • Ability to multi-task utilizing multiple computer software applications
  • Assist with plan of care coordination to include obtaining patient information, completing documents, and documentation to ensure timely throughout.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior medical background experience preferred.
  • AHA Heartsavers CPR certification required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The individual must be able to: Stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, lift, see, speak and hear. Lifting is limited to 35 lbs. for clinical staff and to 50 lbs. for non-clinical staff. The individual must use an assisted-lift device or get another individual(s) to assist with the lift that is over these maximum limits.
