User Experience Designer

UX Designer

Location: New York City, NY

Schedule: 40 hours per week, Hybrid Onsite

Pay Rate: Up to $103.45/hr based on experience

Planet Interactive is looking for a UX Designer to work with our Fortune 500 financial service client on their ETF Accelerator program. This role is a 6 month contract with the possibility to go longer and will be based out of their New York City office.

UX Designer Responsibilities:

• Develop a deep understanding of our product and user base and be part of the team that defines the product functionality and features.
• Work as part of highly experienced design, product, engineering and business teams to build out best in class user experience that will become the foundation of a high growth client facing product.
• Ability to take an idea, a problem or need, apply design thinking to create thought-provoking concepts, tell a compelling story and see it through to the entire UX process
• Proven ability to execute across the UX spectrum including concepting, user research, usability testing and detailed design production
• You are focused on your users' needs and therefore create designs that are not only purposeful but also efficient, usable and delightful
• Translate complex data requirements into visually appealing data viz and metrics
• Use data driven evidence to inform your designs; and always validate your designs as part of your process
• You are detail obsessed, you’re not only thorough in ensuring all aspects of a feature is considered e.g. workflows, edge cases, error handling, but also in visual aspects of your designs
• You have a flexible approach, you can change gears or pivot directions quickly when required
• You are curious, unafraid to challenge status quo, can think laterally and ask the right questions

UX Designer Qualifications:

• At least 6+ years of professional experience designing innovative digital products
• Degree or Masters in Design, Human Factors, Industrial Design or related fields
• Proficient in Figma
• Experience defining and communicating a vision for the product experience to all audiences including senior executives
• Great presentation, workshop and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and organization skills
• Experience working in Agile or sprint-based environment
• Experience in designing enterprise or complex applications

UX Designer Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial services or investment banking
• Experience in front end development
