We are currently seeking a seasoned Vice President of Construction to lead and oversee the construction of new restaurant locations and remodels across the United States.


Your Impact:

As the Vice President of Construction, you will play a pivotal role in our company's growth and sustainability. You will be responsible for providing leadership and direction for all aspects of construction, from initial planning to final execution. Your expertise will ensure that our restaurants are built to the highest standards, meeting our ambitious growth targets and delivering outstanding results.


What You’ll Do:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Development: Manage, lead, and develop a team of Construction Managers to ensure consistent and high-quality levels of support and accountability.
  • Planning and Development: Oversee the planning and development process of new store openings and remodels, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Construction Lifecycle Management: Effectively lead the construction lifecycle, implementing process improvements to achieve company goals.
  • Cost and Speed Optimization: Creatively lower the cost and speed of construction projects.
  • Pre-Construction Planning: Coordinate pre-construction planning with the design team, Construction Managers, and brand partners.
  • Deadline Management: Create and manage deadlines for all construction projects, ensuring timely completion.
  • Vendor Management: Develop a network of regional contractors and design partners with clear performance metrics and accountability.
  • Partnerships: Collaborate with brand partners to meet business objectives, maintain brand standards, and ensure speed to market.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with franchise sales, design, real estate, and operations teams to provide insight and direction on growth-related decisions and strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive consistent improvement in team members through open communication, education, and strong organizational skills.


Relational Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Strategic Planning: Work with executive leadership to develop long-term plans for the organization around the growth and development of construction.
  • Field Program Implementation: Partner with support center leaders to implement new field programs and ensure effective execution.
  • Consistency Across Regions: Collaborate with operations directors and other construction directors to maintain consistency across regions.
  • Team Development: Build and develop teams that support company culture and uphold the standards and reputation of our brands.


Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: A relevant college degree or 10 years of related experience in construction management within the restaurant or retail industry.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to comprehend and interpret architectural plans, construction documents, and safety rules. Proficiency in software and systems required for efficient construction project management.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to calculate figures and amounts, solve practical problems, and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds, and have specific vision abilities required for close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: Experience in managing and evaluating a team, with responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
