Summary

Our Client, a metal fabrication company, is looking for a VP of Operations for their Anderson, SC location.

Salary Range: $140-$160k + (flexible/based on experience) + BONUS + benefits + other perks

The VP of Operations will be a people-supportive leader who drives results, improves processes, develops strong teams, and provides executive level leadership/reporting all while directing all manufacturing activities. The VP of Operations is passionate about data, collaborative problem solving, building LEAN systems, and driving performance across the company.

Duties And Responsibilities

Primary Functions Oversee the activities of team members to increase value-added time in all areas of production. Use 6 Sigma process to capture data with true measurements of improvements. Oversee the execution of schedule to meet on time delivery goals. Work closely with the Management team to prepare budgets, forecasts, and control expenditures in accordance with the approved plans and budgets. Maintain close surveillance over operations to assure coordination and integration of workflow, budgetary conformance, schedules and optimum utilization of equipment, trained resources, and Quality Systems (OEE). Responsible for the accuracy and interpretation of all operations performance data, reports, and action plans to ensure effective communication while maximizing operational performance. Oversee and direct the manufacturing managers, direct and indirect manufacturing workforce and interact with other supporting functions and groups. Work with Senior leadership to develop and implement strategies resulting in measurable improvements within manufacturing operations. Establish meaningful performance metrics (KPI’s), collect and analyze data, implement appropriate corrective actions and then compile critical reports. Drive performance through the application of key KPI’s, focused Continuous Improvement and problem-solving. Build cross-functional relationships across the company that support collaborative problem solving. Develop and manage operating and capital expenditure budgets related to Manufacturing Operations, improvement opportunities, technology gaps and resource requirements assuring adherence to annual targets. Develop and cascade annual performance objectives as defined by company executive leadership. Work closely with the procurement team on supplier’s improvement and cost reduction programs set out by Strategic procurement. Champion continuous process improvements across all aspects of operations; production, production Control, quality, and facilities management. Champion and maintain LEAN manufacturing, 6 sigma, or 5S program. Lead and sponsor the development and application of LEAN-6 Sigma in the Operations. Embrace and promote the core values of the company, creating an inclusive and collaborative work environment while ensuring all employees follow all company and industry standard health and safety guidelines. Collaborate with Business Development and Sales to industrialize new projects to facilitate cost effective product launches and meet customer expectations and profit goals.

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience/education combination. Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience with progressive leadership. A minimum of 5 years leading Manufacturing Operations and Continuous Improvement. Experience in managing operations in a $50+ million company. Knowledge and experience in world class manufacturing techniques including Continuous Improvement, OEE, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing with a strong track record of making substantive improvements in operational performance. Strong interpersonal skills, especially as they apply to communication and conflict resolution. Tier 1/OEM and/or automotive background are a plus. Persistent, yet tolerant, in the face of pressure and obstacles with an ability to consider a multitude of solution options. Naturally a strategic thinker, with excellent critical thinking and analytical skills. As the Vice President of Operations, this position commands a strong leader who can create a sense of belonging and ownership among team members while driving accountability and respect through thoughtful coaching, motivation, and guidance. This is a hands-on role that is absolutely critical to the success of this organization!
