The Vice President, Operations is responsible for driving continuous improvement and optimization of all processes. The Vice President, Operations will oversee daily operations and supply chain to ensure continuity of supply and assembly of products to meet daily fulfillment demands. They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop strategies, systems and processes to improve productivity and develop continuous improvement processes to drive down cost on a per customer basis each year. Develop metrics and standards to track progress.
- Improve supply chain logistics in increase ability to respond to demand peaks by optimizing component inventory and building a more agile supply chain.
- Decrease unit costs through improved sourcing, better contract manufacturing processes and optimized component sourcing.
- Establish a supply chain with components sourced to minimize impact of existing or potential trade tariffs.
- Reduce cost of quality by identifying opportunities to improve component and contract manufacturer specifications and acceptance criteria, enhance processes, and refine algorithms.
- Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping on a daily basis.
- Manage and oversee all Operations, Supply Chain and Sustaining Engineering personnel. Recruit, manage and develop staff.
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets for all Operations and Supply Chain functions.
- Develop and implement Build reliable and repeatable processes to communicate and resolve issues in real time with Sales, Customer Service, Compliance and STAN.
- Develop and implement real time dashboards, assessable to the organization, reflecting the current status of Operations performance against daily demand requirements. Implement real time response processes to address potential missed shipments or stock outs.
- Build a trusting relationship with employees to resolve issues and drive corporate initiatives.
- Develop, implement and commit to operations safety procedures.
- Remain current on latest production and supply chain management best practices and concepts.
- All other duties as assigned.
Job Rquirements:
- 5 years' work experience as an operations manager or similar experience.
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, supply chain, inventory and stewardship processes.
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
- Experience with six-sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies is very beneficial.
- Background in data analysis and reporting preferred.
- BS degree in Business Management or related field required.
