Position Description
The junior, assistant, or associate specialist will play an important role supporting research projects in the Ye lab. Detailed responsibilities include collaborating with graduate students and postdoc fellows to develop new genomics technologies, working with other technicians in lab to validate and perform molecular and cellular assays, meeting and planing experimental efforts with direct supervisor.

Required Qualifications
- Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) at least four years of research experience.
- Specialists appointed at the Assistant rank must possess a master’s degree or a baccalaureate degree with 3 or more years of research experience.
- Specialists appointed at the Associate rank must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.
- The successful candidates should have at least 12 months of experiences in a research lab environment and have the following skill sets.
- Molecular biology techniques including DNA and RNA isolation and quantification, PCR and qPCR, vector design and cloning, agarose gel electrophoresis, and Sanger sequencing.
- Tissue culture with both primary cells and cell lines including maintenance and passage of cultured cell lines and primary human cells, flow cytometry, transfection techniques, and cell isolation techniques.
- Computer skills including the use of Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Must have basic knowledge of data presentation, including processing of tables, charts, and graphs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and with external contacts in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a scientific research team.
- Exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills, lab notebook practices and attention to details.
- One or more years of recent, directly related work experience following degree completion, utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position; and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Additional skills desired in genomic technologies include single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing (RNA-seq), open chromatin accessibility sequencing (ATAC-seq), and immune repertoire sequencing (TCR-seq).
- Experiences with data analysis with R or Python is a plus.
- Post-graduate training in field.
- Independent specialized research.
