245 Utilities: Using MEASURE to calculate distances and areas in your drawings

- [Instructor] Welcome to another tip and trick for AutoCAD. We're going to take a look at the utilities panel in the home tab on the ribbon in AutoCAD today. So we've got a new drawing for you: 245_UTILITIES_Measure.dwg, and you can download that drawing from the library to follow along with this particular tips and tricks video if you wish. When you open up the drawing, you can see that we've got a floor plan. And what we're going to look at is using the utilities panel and the measure tool here, and we're going to measure some distances and some areas in the drawing. Now there's some really cool tools in the measure command nowadays, one of which is a new one, which is in the newer versions of AutoCAD. It's called Quick Measure. This one here. So if I click on Quick now and just hover over anything in the drawing area, can you see I'm getting measurements left, right, and center? We're going to zoom in down here on the bottom right corner of the drawing like so, so get in there…
