- Welcome to another tip and trick for AutoCAD. We've got a new drawing for you. It's called 281designreusetoolpalettesimperial.DWG. And as you can gather from the title, we're going to be looking at tool palettes, and we're going to be looking at imperial units initially. Now what we're going to do, we're going to work with Design Center and create a tool palette from a drawing in Design Center first. And then we're going to set all that up as our imperial part of our tool palette. Now bear in mind, you can have different unit settings in a tool palette, and that's the kind of bit I want to get across here. So we're currently in our 281 design reuse tool palettes imperial drawing. Now, before we do anything else, we're going to right click and go to options on the shortcut menu. And in the user preferences tab, we're going to make sure our insertion scale, our source content units are inches and our target drawing units are inches.
