- [Instructor] Your email address is likely your most important crown jewel. It is probably the way that you access your Apple account or your Google account that has all of your documents, photos and other sensitive information. And think about what else is in your email, communication from everyone you know. And this is also how you log into other accounts like bank accounts or shopping accounts. If a bad actor gets access to this, they can do so much harm to you. So the most important thing to start protecting your email is to make sure that your account is secure. Make sure that you first and foremost have a strong and unique password for that account. Your password should be at least 20 characters, and you should never, ever reuse passwords between accounts. To keep track of this, I highly recommend using a password manager so that every account that you log into has a strong and unique password.
