Managing across and up

- When we talk about managing, we usually mean managing down, managing employees who work for us, but what about managing across and up? That means influencing other colleagues at your level and even your own leadership. Great leaders do it, and in this video, I'll provide three actions so you can too. First, build relationships at work. I know you've heard that a million times, but there's a reason why. Every leader you work with, whether at your level or all the way up the corporate ladder, faces the same challenges. That's a whole lot of knowledge you can leverage to succeed at work. At the same time, viewing them as the individuals they are and asking questions to learn about their personal interests inside and outside of the office can help you work more effectively with them.
