- There are many specific kinds of drawings we have at our disposal to abstract elements, objects, or structures. So let's take a look at how we can take an object and communicate its form in a series of abstracted drafted views in this and the next few videos. First, all drafted views boil down to essentially two types: perspective and paraline. Perspective drawings tend to be more realistic, and they attempt to show the objects three dimensionally as they will actually appear in real life. The parallel edges of the elements converge as they become more distant and ultimately vanish off on the horizon. While a perspective drawing can appear more natural to the eye, and it can be very precise, it cannot be drawn to scale. Therefore, while useful, if you want an illustration that is to scale and represents accurate distances, then you'll want to use a paraline drawing.
