Components

Components

- [Instructor] Okay, so let's talk about components. What are components? Components are reasonable building blocks of a design in a design system. Each component supports a UI interactive goal and you use these building blocks to create a pattern that delivers a solution to a particular user interaction. Some examples of a component are buttons, dropdowns, input fields, cards, tool tips, alerts, and jumplinks to name a few. And speaking of atoms, I'd like to recommend you read Brad Frost's book on atomic design. You can grab a copy of his book at bradfrost.com. I am not paid nor am I affiliated with Brad Frost in any way, but I do believe that this is a good book for you and your team to read during your design system development journey. In the next section, I'd like to look at some design systems and how they approach delivering guidance.
