- Chapter one was all about laying the foundation, getting to know more about what DEI is and why it's important for organizations and all of the individuals that work in them. Now we're going to talk about individual accountability, the subject of this entire course. What exactly does that mean? Individual accountability means you are fully responsible for your actions and the consequences of those actions. In the context of DEI, this means understanding and owning how you show up in this space. It means taking an active rather than a passive stance to create equity and inclusion in your workplace, and quite frankly, in the entire world. What does this look like?
