Strategies for ending the mental health stigma

- So if stigma is the biggest barrier to an inclusive and supportive work environment for people with mental health conditions, how do we end that stigma? Here are some strategies. The first step is educating managers and individual contributors about mental health conditions. Education can include information about symptoms, treatment options, and even the prevalence of mental health conditions. For example, according to a survey published in the Harvard Business Review, 76% of people reported at least one symptom of a mental health condition in 2020. Educating managers about mental health conditions helps them to view people with mental health conditions for what they're capable of rather than merely associating them with negative attitudes and assumptions. Another strategy is to use inclusive language when referring to mental health. The words we use can significantly impact how we perceive mental health conditions.…
