- Now that you've been asked for an onsite interview, you'll want to spend some time understanding the company and its culture. You may have heard of the company and know it's a place you want to work, but now you'll want to dig deeper into its cultural values and its product areas. I can share a personal example of how I was caught off guard during an interview. I was aware of a single flagship product from a company I was interviewing with, and in the interview I was asked if I knew about a different product. I had to admit, no, I hadn't heard of that. The interviewer said, "I would've expected you to do your research "before coming in here, but that's okay." It was an abrupt reminder that a well-prepared candidate means going into depth on the product offerings.
