Connect your inbox to HubSpot

- [Instructor] One of the very first things you might consider doing after setting up your HubSpot CRM account and going through the Getting Started window is to connect your inbox to HubSpot. This way you'll be able to send emails directly from the CRM tool, and likewise, access some of the sales tools from your inbox. It's not set up automatically for you. You have to give permission. That's what we're going to do in this movie. You can see I'm looking at my new default window here which is under Reports, something called Dashboards. But we're going over here to the settings icon. Click there, and from the settings menu down the left-hand side, we'll expand Integrations by clicking it. Here's where we find Email Integrations; click there. With Connected Emails selected up here at the top, just scroll down where you'll find a button to connect an inbox. Go ahead and click there. If you know which email provider you're working with, it's a simple matter of selecting it from this list. I know I'm Office 365, for example. Your organization might use Exchange, or maybe you're using HubSpot as a personal tool and have some other mail account; you can select this. Or if you're not sure, go down here where it says not sure which to choose. It's a link that you can click. It opens up a new tab, MX Lookup Tool. All you need to do is type in your domain name. For example, I know I'm at landonhotel.com. When we type that in and click MX Lookup, you can see it's busy doing a little search. Eventually it's going to tell me which one I should be using as an email provider and I'll be able to connect to it. You can see it down here; it's outlook.com. Scrolling a little bit further down, I get some additional information. Lots of information, in fact. It's going to tell me that I should be using Microsoft Office right here. That's my email service provider. I can close up this tab and go to Office 365. Clicking here gives me some information. You can follow along if you're using Office 365 as well, or go ahead and select your own provider. Clicking Continue to continue opens up a new tab here. I need to make sure that I'm logged in; I am. Permissions are requested. You can see it's HubSpot Sales down below. We have to click the checkbox to consent on behalf of our organization and click Accept. You can see it's getting connected. Sending a test email just to make sure everything's working. Once it's verified, we'll see a window here that shows that our email address is now connected to HubSpot. Down below, you can see there's some additional information about extensions for Gmail and Outlook if you happen to be using those tools as well. If not, just click No, thanks. We're taken right back to our settings where we now have our personal inbox connected to HubSpot. A little later on as we move through the chapters and movies, we'll be able to send emails, for example, to contacts directly from our CRM without having to switch back and forth. Go ahead and click the HubSpot logo up here to go back to our default main window here, our Marketing Dashboard, and we'll continue from here.
