- [Instructor] Social media marketing, also referred to as SMO, centers around growing a brand's presence on social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and more. Social media is a very large driver of brand discovery. In fact, a whopping 77% of consumers say that social media has inspired them to learn about new brands or products that they would've otherwise known nothing about. In addition, 71% of consumers say that social media has encouraged them to shop for something even when they weren't planning to do so, proving that those who can properly market on social media have a lot to gain.
