Harnessing the generational shift

- We now have as many as five generations in the workplace. That's more than ever before. That includes the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z. This topic can be seen as a burden or a benefit, depending on how well it's managed. On the less productive side, we might see misunderstanding in conflict. But on the more productive side, we see stronger productivity, resilience, and creativity in age-diverse groups. Progress starts with understanding, so consider this sample of key differences among the generations. Gen Z, referring to those born between 1997 and 2012, they are digital natives. So using technology to attract and retain them becomes critical. They strongly value forms of flexibility and expect highly collaborative relationships with management.
