- PowerPoint can help you create all sorts of ways to show diagrams, flow charts. It can even help you add a photo to a diagram. The tool is called SmartArt, and all the functionality you need is built right into PowerPoint. Let's get started building an executive list. On my slide, I'll change to the insert tab. From here, I'll click SmartArt. Here's where you can see a list of base types of SmartArt. And the easiest way to decide what you should choose is to know what you're trying to accomplish. There's lists, processes, cycles. In this case, I want to add pictures to mine because it's an executive list and I have their photos. I really like this alternating picture block style so I'll select it and click okay. Now it's up to me to start building it. I'll start by putting in the text.
