- Yearly performance reviews, while important, are no longer enough for employees who want and need more frequent and honest feedback throughout the year. In order to improve and stay on track with performance goals and team morale, managers must schedule mandated and regular check-ins with each employee. Now, let's talk about why these are important, and some tips to make them even more effective. The more employees and managers can communicate, the better they will be able to work together to accomplish goals, develop skills, and give and receive feedback. The purpose of one-on-ones is to keep the lines of communication open between managers and employees in order to effectively engage and manage performance.
