- Next I want to mention reliability. A key success feature is to be reliable, so that everything you make or sell or do is always what the customer expects. And in order to achieve this, you will need everything behind you to be reliable. All the equipment, from pens to phones to printers to cars, has to be reliable, even if you have to pay a bit more for it. The extra cost for that reliability will pay for itself in the end. Life's too short to be checking and fixing maintenance problems. You need your full time and energy to be focused on moving forward and creating new ideas for how to be the best. So chuck out that printer that keeps jamming and get a nice, new one. Maybe it's time to get better quality prints, anyway. And the people who work for you, which includes partners, colleagues, and suppliers, also have to be reliable. So when you're recruiting people, reliability should be one of the things that you look for at the interview. And if someone turns out to be unreliable…
