- [Rick] In this video, I'll demonstrate how to install VMware tools on a virtual machine. And it's very important that you install VMware tools on every virtual machine that you possibly can. It does a few simple things like improve the way the mouse works in the console, but it also has some really significant features that are important to the performance of my virtual machines. Like for example, when I create a virtual machine, there are different types of network interface cards that I can choose from. And one of the options that's going to give me the best possible performance is the VMXNET3 network interface card driver. This driver is included in VMware tools. So, I can only utilize this if I install VMware tools on my virtual machines. Another important tool that's included in VMware tools is the driver that's necessary for memory ballooning.
