It's always great to be back in the DC area! I've been able to take some trips over 3 of my last 4 weeks up to the DMV for some MLS, spring football, and NHL action, and it's been so great to reconnect with old friends and make some new connections in the industry. Working with the people in this industry is one of my favorite parts of my job; these shows are complete team efforts, so I am thankful to work with such great people.

I am a huge soccer (football) fan. I play, coach, or watch a game in my free time. Last night, after a soccer game we won, I reflected on the rough start to the season and how we have been able to turn it around. We didn't change personnel or tactics, but we made changes to the roles of the players and the expectations of each role. In my reflection, I concluded that to have a successful team, you must understand the roles and responsibilities of each person on the team. Each member must know the distinctive positions, their unique roles, and how to optimize teamwork within each role. The concept of teamwork is not unique to team sports, but also to our respective organizations. To have a successful team, there must be clearly defined roles and expectations. We must understand how different parts intersect and how to foster collaborations. P.s. I support Manchester United. #GGMU

Are the best teams the most successful? Are they teams full of superstars? Why don’t the most talented teams always win? “The best football team’s I’ve been on are not the most talented. They’ve been they closest” - (James Jones, 2023) It’s not always about wins and losses. Though this is how we measure success and what we term as “best”, you may not have the best team for you individual members if you don’t understand what their values and goals are. #whoisthebest #knowyourperformers #personalizeperformanceplans

Just one person can make a world of difference Only 10 years ago Ollie Watkins was playing non-league football and yet on Wednesday night he fired England into the final of the European Championships. Of course, he was surrounded by an England team that wanted to win and had been given his chance by a manager prepared to take a risk. Yet, what will be overlooked in this moment of celebration is that he had to: - Work hard - Be patient - Be prepared - Be mentally ready - Have a positive attitude - Work well with the people that have supported him - Be resilient - Anticipate what may come his way - Take the opportunities presented to him - Eat well - Sleep well - Listen - Take calculated risks - Surround himself with positive influences - Be a good teammate and; - Continually look for ways to improve his game This is true of every employee in every role and just like Ollie Watkins did, you can make a world of difference. #culture #teamwork #results

Each one of us has a vital role when playing for a team. Remember Dennis Rodman, who, despite not being a scorer, played an important role for the Chicago Bulls? When Michael Jordan asked him to focus on getting 20 rebounds per game, he embraced his unique role and contributed significantly helping the team get multiple NBA championships. 🏀 🤝 Key Strategies: 1. Know Your Strengths: Understand your unique skills. 2. Embrace Your Role: Every role contributes to the team's success. 3. Effective Communication: Clearly define everyone's responsibilities. 4. Support Each Other: Team success relies on collective efforts. 5. Adaptability: Be flexible and ready to adjust for the greater good. Remember, it's not about scoring, but about excelling in your designated role to create a winning team! 💪🚀 #TeamSuccess #CollaborationWin

Let's face it, we can't be good at everything. That's why it's important to have a team that combines their specialties to achieve greatness. Sachin Tendulkar was a phenomenal batsman, but not a great captain. However, that doesn't take away from his incredible talent and skill on the field. The same concept applies to any team or organization. Remember, it's not about being the best at everything, it's about finding the right people who can bring their unique strengths to the table. #Teamwork #Collaboration #Specialties #Strengths

Another fantastic weekend of Rugby League from the boys in Blue & Red 🏉 🔥Setup, Position & Direction🔥 Great to see our Under 12’s team come away with another win 😊 What’s even better to see is the team understanding & executing an instruction. (Albeit, the final pass came a little late for my liking 😂) Our No.11 very nearly got sucked in to the middle of the park and drifting out of position! He heard the call, adjusted and his goal was in sight! All he had to do was follow the process to reap the rewards! It can be hard to block out the noise which can temporally make us lose focus! But with Direction & Support we can achieve great things and allow ourselves to focus on our own roles to maximise results! Which in turn, will enable the team to succeed! I absolutely love watching these young men face challenges & adversity week in week out allowing their skills, ability & character to develop!!! So much of this can be transferable in to our professional careers! 💥Are we positioned correctly? 💥Have a plan in place? 💥Focused on our role? 💥Understand our objective? Thankfully @ Tobermore we have great leaders in place and the network of support is second to none! Individual brilliance mixed with consistency, discipline and cohesion as a unit is a recipe for success! #RugbyLeague #Team #Direction #Execution #Support #Yorkshire #TeamTobermore #SideBeforeSelf

Not many people know this about me, but I used to play rugby. I played for town, county and region - sadly not country (I tried out, I was too slow). One of the things I loved about rugby was how there was a place on the team for everybody. It didn't matter if you were tall or short, big or small, fast or slow - a rugby team is diverse and welcoming and embraces our differences. And that's a lesson I've carried forwards to the workplace, and how I build my teams now. I believe in bringing different people together, there's real strength in how our differences complement each other. ❌ Homogenous teams are weak, biased, and ultimately unsuccessful. ✅ Diverse teams are strong, open and ultimately successful. What kind of team are you building? Image description: The photo shows the Folkestone Ladies rugby team in 2004, along with our three coaches. It's the end of the match and we are hot, we are tired, and we lost - but we are also smiling. Except our head coach, he's pretty annoyed. ___ 👋 Hi, I'm Caroline, a product leader and coach with 20+ years experience 👩💻 I work with organisations, communities and individuals to build great products, leaders and teams 💚 Like this? Role clarification is really important while building a team because it sets expectations between you and your team members. To understand this, think of a football team. Imagine if there was no clarity on who the goalkeeper was. Anyone and everyone would be trying to defend the goal, while potentially neglecting their primary roles such as defending, midfielding, or striking. This confusion could lead to a lack of offensive play and higher chances of conceding goals, thus diminishing the team's chance of success. #TeamBuilding #RoleClarity #WorkplaceSuccess #Productivity
