Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3®) Modules 1-4 - 22nd January The Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3®) treatment approach has one of the strongest evidence bases for use with children with developmental verbal dyspraxia/childhood apraxia of speech. The NDP3® approach provides a multi-layered, multi-target treatment approach involving working on several layers simultaneously. The approach works from the child’s strengths; what they can already do and builds skills in small achievable steps from this point. NDP3® training is modular and split into two courses. The first training (modules 1 & 2) examines the current evident-base and NDP3® assessment and intervention approach. Modules 3 & 4 provide the opportunity to practice, through a series of supported assessments, treatment planning and goal-setting exercises. There’s the opportunity to raise clinical queries and to problem-solve case management issues. Let's talk EHCP's! 💚 In recent years we have seen a huge increase in EHCP's being awarded to children with SEND. The local authority states that a final plan should be issued within 20 weeks of the application, however many parents and schools are having to jump through hoops to get a plan in place, with many exceeding the 20 week timeframe. Many children are refused an assessment, or if accepted to assess, are then refused an EHCP, resulting in mediation and tribunals. ❎ Why are EHCP's on the rise? The module includes resources for teachers to learn more on various topics. This module is intended for teachers, staff, and administrators who work with students in the K-12 setting who are blind or have low vision. Postsecondary faculty and staff, rehabilitation counselors, and employment specialists who work with students who are blind or have low vision may also benefit. Unless there is an end to the zero sum game of inspection nothing will change. Grading needs to go, league tables need to go and we need a ‘done with’ not ‘done to’ attitude to inspection. We have to understand that school outcomes largely reflect school intakes and greater care, knowledge and understanding of the circumstances surrounding schools and their communities should be at the core of any inspection regime. The best models have this and it does not reduce school accountability. At Learning 3D we would propose a general operating standard that all schools need to pass and then inspectors work alongside schools in areas they need to develop. Schools should be celebrated for their strengths relative to their circumstances. https://lnkd.in/eQfc4UCA
