If you're wondering what to do today set up an arts and craft station. Most people have a drawer or six of art and craft materials. Don’t be too concerned about the end product. Instead work with your child to use paint, glue, glitter, pom poms, etc., to create whatever they want to create. If your child does not like arts and crafts, include reinforcers to encourage participation. If your child does like arts and crafts ask them for suggestions on activities. #autism #learningdisabilities #parentsupport

I've never watched Anime, but I remember my younger brother being completely hooked on Dragon Ball Z as a kid, and his love for anime has only grown since then. This article sheds light on why and how disability representation in the media is crucial to shape impressionable minds. Ever notice how thoughts of certain people stick with you? It happens to me a lot, especially when I think about the amazing kids I worked with, three or four awesome souls with autism. They taught me heaps about life, the beauty they hold, and the not-so-great stuff the world throws at them. Now, let's talk about a whole other story. I'm Asian, and in our neck of the woods, there's this thing about caste and race. Older folks might be into it, but what surprised me is some young guns still buy into this ancient system. Crazy, right? Here's the kicker: dealing with those cool kids and supporting a caste system, it's kinda of the same deal. It's all about not growing up with the idea that different is okay. Call it what you want, but it boils down to one word: acceptance. Learning to accept. Accepting the beauty in differences. It's like having one big umbrella that covers everything.💙 #AcceptanceInDiversity #EmbraceTheDifference #BeyondCaste #KidsTeachUs #EqualityMatters #BreakTheStereotype #LearnAndAccept #LoveWithoutLabels #DiverseUnity #OneWorldTogether

You geek out in play therapy? What's that even mean?? Duh, we do things like draw D&D characters with kids and go on pretend adventures to help them feel what it’s like to be the hero of their own story! Therapeutic applications of TTRPGs, like Dungeons and Dragons and Adventure Kids, give clients the opportunity to try on new identities, battle their fears, and overcome challenges, all within the safety of play! #geektherapy #playtherapy #neurodiversityaffirmingtherapy #autisticplayisvalid

Want an insight into #autism? Maybe to benefit your #business, #workplace, a colleague, friend or, as a parent to better understand how a child views and manages their world? Then a grab a coffee or a drink of choice and take 5 minutes to view this great but simple animation. See it as the start of your education on #AutismSpectrumDisorder. Autism is not an illness or disease. It means for many their brains are wired differently. Living in ignorance when autism is in your office or at home can be very stressful for all concerned. Going on a journey to get assessed in the #UK is long and complex. More stress. But, being able to support people with autism is life changing. This was the best #education I had in 2023 to carry through into 2024. As the video says, autism can make amazing things happen. #neurodiversity #diversityandinclusion #opportunity #children
