Many people mistakenly believe that MENTORING is only useful during the early stages of one’s career. But, NO! MENTORING can be beneficial at any and every point in your journey. Whether you're a recent graduate or a professional, having a mentor can provide invaluable guidance and support and it’s never too late or too early to start your mentorship journey. Before you find a mentor, think about what you are looking to achieve with the help of a mentor, then it is easier to find someone who has that experience to support you. ➣ You can look for someone that you respect, admire, or choose someone from within an organisation or association that you are connected to i.e., place of work or externally. ➣ Check with your employer, college, university, or organisation to see if they have a mentoring initiative already in place. ➣ Some organisations offer mentees to be matched with compatible mentors based on personalities, experience, and the identification of needs. ➣ Ask for recommendations in the same way as you would any other tradesperson or professional. Remember, mentorship is about building a trusted relationship that requires effort and commitment from both parties. IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO FIND A MENTOR who can help you navigate your life and career path to achieve your goals. "Advice is like snow; the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon, and the deeper it sinks into the mind." This has got to be one of my favourite quotes from poet and philosopher Samuel Taylor. It is subtle and apt, and highly relatable in both my personal and professional lives. Having the privilege of being a mentor changed the way I think. Instead of overwhelming mentees with an avalanche of forceful, unsolicited advice, the true magic happens when we create space for our mentees to uncover their own perspectives and solutions. Mentoring then becomes a two-way street and I've learned the art of holding my horses and listening attentively! Conversely, as a mentee, I've come to appreciate the importance of carefully choosing mentors. Being selective and aligning my mentors' values with mine has become non-negotiable. Finding the right mentor is a journey that shouldn't be rushed. Having a cheerleader on your side is always a great idea - as long as you pick the right one to listen to and be guided by! If you share a passion for mentoring or are interested in connecting with fellow mentoring practitioners, leaders, advocates, and stakeholders, I invite you to join us at the upcoming National Mentoring Summit on November 17th, organised by Mentoring SG! Event Site: www.nms2023.com Ticketing Link: https://lnkd.in/dGMs-m5x Your event ticket purchase directly contributes to Mentoring SG's mission of fostering a mentoring culture in Singapore and making mentoring more accessible for youth. I look forward to seeing you there as we explore the impact and celebrate the power of mentorship together! #NationalMentoringSummit2023 #NMS2023 #CorporateExcellenceAward #mentoring #development #culture

Today marks the International Day of Mentoring, a day dedicated to recognizing the invaluable role mentors play in shaping our professional and personal journeys. In a world that's more connected than ever, the significance of global mentoring cannot be overstated. Mentoring, at its core, is about sharing #knowledge, #experiences, and #wisdom. It's a partnership where both mentor and mentee #grow, #learn, and #develop. On this day, we celebrate the mentors who have crossed cultural and geographical boundaries to enrich the lives of others. In my career in the #BPO industry, I've had many mentors and countless mentees. Each one of them has played a crucial role in helping me achieve the success I've had in the industry. Their guidance, insights, and support have been instrumental in navigating the challenges and opportunities that come with our fast-paced, ever-evolving sector. Mentoring breaks down barriers, fosters diversity, and promotes inclusivity. It's a powerful tool for professional development, providing insights and perspectives that are invaluable in our increasingly globalized business world. As we observe the International Day of Mentoring, let's commit to fostering these relationships. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out, consider reaching out as a mentor or seeking one out as a mentee. The knowledge exchanged in these relationships is a cornerstone of continuous growth and global understanding. Let's use this day to reflect on the mentors who have impacted our lives and to embrace the opportunity to mentor others. Remember, the journey of mentoring is a two-way street that benefits everyone involved. #InternationalMentoringDay #Mentors #Collaboration #ProfessionalGrowth #mentorship

Just like Mary Henderson did, accessing my exclusive Industry Icon Mentoring Program is more than just a sign-up. It's about showcasing your readiness to commit and work hard to be the top in your industry. Mentorship plays a pivotal role in the pursuit of excellence. It's not only about receiving guidance, but also having a cheerleader who believes in your potential and helps you unlock it. In this program, I'm searching for those with an unwavering drive, the kind that pushes them forward despite obstacles. After all, the road to greatness is not always easy; it demands resilience and determination to successfully navigate its twists and turns. That's why mentorship is so invaluable. It offers the support, guidance, and the push you need to stay focused and motivated, even when the journey gets tough. It’s like having a confidant, cheering you on, providing insights, and aiding you in making necessary changes. However, mentorship goes beyond one-way communication. It's a partnership built on mutual respect, trust, and collaboration. As a mentee, your unique talents, experiences, and perspectives enrich the mentorship dynamic and ensure both parties gain from the relationship. So, if you're eager to elevate your game, if you're driven to be the best in your field, I encourage you to apply for my Industry Icon Mentoring Program. Show me your drive, determination, and quest for excellence, and together, let's embark on a transformative journey towards greatness. Now, I'd love to hear from you – if you've had a mentor, how has mentorship shaped your path to success? #mentoringprogram #industryicon #davecrane

As I clocked a lovely age a couple of weeks back, one of the prominent questions I received was "What are your plans for mentoring?" Now, this question sounded a bit surprising because I have considered mentoring a huge part of my life. Early on in my career, I imbibed the culture of mentoring and I have built my career on the principle that mentorship is a lifestyle to be adopted and not a seasonal activity only. A mentor can adopt both a seasonal and structured approach to mentoring, but a true mentor is determined never to leave anyone the way you met them but much better than you did. This here, has been my mantra for years and I love how Maya Angelou puts it: "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what did, but people will never forget how you make them feel." At ACT Foundation, right at the centre of our DNA is mentorship as a tool for impact and beyond our grantee organisations, we welcome youths and teenagers to learn about the work we do. I always feel very fulfilled when I see these young ones develop a passion and an interest for a sector they once never even knew existed. Have you tried making mentorship a lifestyle? Determine never to leave anyone including your employees and colleagues the same way you meet them. #mentoring #impact #mentorshipisalifestlye #actfoundation #wegrowtogether
