An Old School Vector Graphics Motion Experiment. This is short piece from a project I am working on. I wanted to get the feel of a very old school arcade game using vector graphics. Like Battlezone. The base was achieved in Cinema 4D using a wireframe node on a RedShift Material. The UI and looks were made in After Effects to get that old CRT feel and glowing vector graphics. During my spare time (which happens to be as rare as the upcoming eclipse) I work on a fan game named Sonic 2 HD with friends from all over the world. We are making SEGA's Sonic The Hedgehog 2 from ground-up with vector-based graphics, digital painting and hand-drawn animations using our own custom engine. Yes, that's correct! The first computer animation, titled "Sketchpad," was created by Ivan Sutherland in 1963. "Sketchpad" is considered one of the earliest examples of computer graphics and interactive computing. It allowed users to interact with the computer graphically using a light pen to create and manipulate geometric shapes on the screen. This pioneering work laid the foundation for the development of computer animation and computer-aided design (CAD) systems in the years to come.
