When we signed up for the Melbourne InnovatEd Bootcamp, we anticipated being mere participants. Imagine our surprise and elation when we were invited to join a distinguished panel alongside Herk Kailis (CEO of Cadmus), Eduardo Oliveira (Software Engineering Lecturer at UoM), and Mim Ingvarson (InnovatEd Lead). 🚀 In recent years, we have been witnessing a transformation in our work and personal lives akin to that of the Industrial Revolution. The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence in our daily lives is changing how we do everything, including the way we educate our youth. Humanity has been thrust into a brave new world. But out of all industries, the education system is perhaps the least prepared for this transformation. With AI language models often outperforming students, we're left with some fundamental questions: How do we teach? How do we assess? How can we harness the power of AI to elevate education without fostering over-reliance or academic misconduct? This is where Sincidium steps in. Open Source + AI is key for fostering innovation in the Indian Education & Scientific Research space, while directly augmenting accessibility for builders, makers & consumers alike. The Hack5 hackathon tries to answer the question - what happens if we enable people building AI with mentorship and support, and at the same time democratize innovation by sticking to the principles of open source collaboration. Hack5 provided a space for participants to continually learn, collaborate and iterate over their open source AI projects over the course of 3 months, with regular peer reviews and mentorship from industry experts like Arvind Saraf, Abhishek Mishra, Bharat Shetty Barkur, Simrat Hanspal & Sumod K Mohan. Out of the 40 project submissions over the span of 20 sessions, 5 projects were declared as contest winners by the jury comprising Tanuja Ganu, Ashok Hariharan, Rukma Talwadker, Shubha Shedthikere & Sunil Abraham, with each team receiving a cash prize of ₹1 Lac, sponsored by Meta. 🚨 🚨 I am thrilled to share my experience of using PCMA Spark, an incredible tool that helped me and my group (Chelsea Wagner, Kaylee Woodhull, Cameron Turak, and Molly V. Zygmunt) excel in our recent class assignment for the 2023 Global Student Competition. PCMA Spark provided us with all the necessary resources and support to tackle this challenging project. It allowed us to apply our knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and pushed us to explore new concepts and techniques that elevated our work to a whole new level. The user-friendly interface of PCMA Spark made it incredibly easy for us to navigate through various features and functionalities. The platform offered a wide range of tools, including data analysis, model building, and deployment, making it a one-stop solution for all of our AI needs. One of the standout features of PCMA Spark was its comprehensive library of pre-trained models. These models not only saved us significant time but also provided a solid foundation for our project. Additionally, the platform's ability to customize and fine-tune these models allowed us to tailor them to our specific requirements. Additionally, the support provided by the PCMA Spark community was truly exceptional. From forums to expert guidance, We always felt supported and motivated throughout our journey. The collaborative nature of the platform allowed us to connect with like-minded individuals and foster a dynamic learning environment. Thanks to PCMA Spark, We were able to complete the first part of the 2023 Global Student Competition. The platform's powerful capabilities and user-friendly approach undoubtedly played a crucial role in achieving this milestone.
