Mrs Smith is always so grumpy when she comes into the pharmacy! Have you considered that she may feel invisible and disrespected? Ageism can present significant barriers to older individuals receiving optimal healthcare. Due to these attitudes, older adults may be perceived as less capable, less adaptable or a burden due to their age. It's important to reflect on our own beliefs and attitudes about aging and older people. Remember to treat each elderly patient as an individual with unique needs and preferences, rather than stereotyping based on age. Let's work together to fight ageism in healthcare settings and ensure that every individual receives the care and respect they deserve. #healthcare #healthequity #eldercare
