Which health care benefit is so important that employees would pay more for coverage just to have it? Broad provider networks, according to more than half of respondents in our recent LinkedIn poll. A good network empowers employees by giving them greater choice and better access to care. When deciding what benefits to offer, don't discount the importance of a network made up of different providers that best meet your employees' needs. #EmployeeBenefits #HealthierHappensTogether

A network of providers is important but when you are stingy about approving disease modifying medications, patients suffer. I currently have a seven year old with Crohn’s disease who is very sick and is waiting for a medication to help him feel better. He is out of FDA approved drugs for children. Aetnas policy is that off label biologics in Crohn’s disease is experimental. So they have denied him the next drug. Their urgent appeal process (according to the appeals department) takes 16 days. So, it’s wonderful to have access to a network of doctors. But Cathy (Mary) Moffitt, MD, FAAP, CHIE what say you on access to medications? What say you about “being there” for your patients at their worst moments. From my perspective, Aetna, a CVS Health Company is one of the poorer performers in Washington state.

If Aetna Rx program won't cover my Rx, it's of no use/value/worth to me. Although I cancelled my "coverage", Aetna claims I still owe $$$ for the rest of the "coverage" period and expects me to pay for... nothing. I'm no longer "covered" but yet have to continue paying for "coverage". How is this just?
