Additionally, FLUORO-SORB Adsorbent is less impacted by co-contaminants in the waste stream, such as gasoline- and diesel-range hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, natural organic matter (NOM), salinity, and pH, in comparison to other PFAS adsorbents. AST has an exclusive agreement with CETCO/Minerals Technologies Inc. to provide the proprietary FLUORO-SORB technology for in situ injection applications domestically and internationally to immobilize PFAS. Since FLUORO-SORB Adsorbent is a solid material, it is applied through direct injection as a slurry suspension. Some reactions can be either acid-catalyzed or base-catalyzed, but the products are not identical. For example, the product of the reaction of aromatics and monoenes under the catalysis of acid is formed by the addition of alkyl to the aromatic ring, while the side chain alkylation of aromatics is caused by the catalysis of base.
