On April 19, the #EPA released its long-awaited final rule designating perfluorooctanoic acid and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid, including their salts and structural isomers, as “hazardous substances” under Section 102(a) of CERCLA. Read more about the designation below. #PFOA #PFOS

On Thursday, Dec. 14 at 12pm ET, please join Mike Mazzarese and Derek Pizarro of AST and Matt Geary of CETCO to learn about the FLUORO-SORB® Adsorbent technology, in-field distribution testing, and the suite of potential application techniques. FLUORO-SORB Adsorbent binds across the spectrum of #PFAS, including #PFOA, #PFOS, #PFHxS, and #PFNA, unlike other #sorbent products that are selective and unpredictable in adsorbing PFAS. Additionally, FLUORO-SORB Adsorbent is less impacted by co-contaminants in the waste stream, such as gasoline- and diesel-range hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, natural organic matter (NOM), salinity, and pH, in comparison to other PFAS adsorbents. AST has an exclusive agreement with CETCO/Minerals Technologies Inc. to provide the proprietary FLUORO-SORB technology for in situ injection applications domestically and internationally to immobilize PFAS. Since FLUORO-SORB Adsorbent is a solid material, it is applied through direct injection as a slurry suspension. AST’s decades of experience successfully injecting slurries into overburden, transition zones, and fractured bedrock settings makes this partnership a natural and complementary fit. https://lnkd.in/g8dkDVuh

some of my work, which I can now proudly share
I'm very excited to share our most recent publication on comparing different method for the quantification of olefins in pygas and pyrolysis oils. Thank you to all of the co-authors who worked so hard to make this possible! https://lnkd.in/eRdV3jkj

Some reactions can be either acid-catalyzed or base-catalyzed, but the products are not identical. For example, the product of the reaction of aromatics and monoenes under the catalysis of acid is formed by the addition of alkyl to the aromatic ring, while the side chain alkylation of aromatics is caused by the catalysis of base. For example, cis-trans isomerization and double-bond isomerization of alkenes can occur under acid or base catalysis, while skeleton isomerization can occur only under acid catalysis.#zeolite #catalyst #zsm5 #ts1
