I wonder if this was one of the ex Virgin Atlantic 747’s? I believe they sold three of them to Atlas Air. When I started as crew with Virgin many moons ago, they had a mix of 747-400 and 200 series. The classics used to have a flight engineer in the cockpit alongside the Captain and First Officer. Great aircraft! ✈️
Lufthansa German Airline's long-time charter subsidiary, Condor, was the first to operate the then-brand new Boeing 747 in dedicated non-scheduled services. This is an extremely early photograph during the short period 747-230B, "D-ABYF," operated with the original three-window upper deck configuration (later converted to the 10-window internally extended upper deck). This shot was captured on a rainy Frankfurt day in late 1972. Condor's charter service with the "Queen of the Skies" had commenced the year prior. In the far left background notice the Boeing 737 (quite possibly a -130 model) operated by Condor's owner.

This video shows a tug squeezing between the aircraft tractor and other ground equipment, but in this photo, it is difficult to see the correct route for the driver to use to access the forward hold on the aircraft.
Yes, we are seeing more and more of these incidents, but a clear uncongested stand can only help to mitigate against repeats of these incidents.

Transparency is often talked about in aviation - but seldom backed up with reality at the moment of truth IE when passengers interact with the airline. Here is however, a good PSA by Alaska. I note that there is no tension on Boeing. I would have probably said explicitly - "... Alaska is holding Boeing accountable... " See what you think. #alaskaairlines#boeing#737max#faa#accountabilityhttps://lnkd.in/gMB2hxmd
Turbulence impacts aircraft wings by subjecting them to varying aerodynamic loads. Wings are designed to withstand loads up to 1.5 times the highest aerodynamic load expected during flight.
Technologies like Turbulence Cancelling systems and design inspirations from owl wings aim to reduce the impact of turbulence, enhancing safety and comfort.
This is how the aircraft wing reacts to the Turbulence. The event was on an Aerolíneas Argentinas Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft (LV-HKW) while operating a flight from Santiago, Chile, to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
According to sources, this was one of the biggest turbulence the airline has experienced in 15 years.
For certification, the wings must withstand loads up to 1.5 times, or 150 percent, of the highest aerodynamic load that the jet could ever be expected to encounter.

Turkish Airlines Postpones 600 Aircraft Order Over Engine Options
Turkish Airlines has postponed its planned order for 600 aircraft due to the mounting issues with engines that power both Airbus and Boeing planes. The airlines planned to order approximately 400 narrowbody and 200 widebody jets.
According to the Chairman of Turkish Airlines, Ahmed Bolat, the order will include the Airbus A320neo family, A350s, Boeing 737 MAXs, 787s, and 777-9s. The airline has second thoughts on what could be the largest single aircraft order in the history of commercial aviation.

Gaurd against complacency, inject safety operational discussions into your daily operations meeting conversations. Draw all members into the conversation. Talking and preaching isn’t as productive as dialogue. Give examples of things gone wrong.
A Ryanair Boeing 737-800 aircraft (EI-EGD) received damage to its right wing Leading edge , when it hit a catering truck while taxiing into a gate at London Stansted Airport (STN) on 04 October.
Apparently, lagging a situational awareness, the truck driver came in proximity of the taxi path to the gate and could not go back to avoid the collision.
Aircraft, that's grounded there , was operating a flight FR2861 from Luxembourg (LUX) on that day.

Ops, again.
What’s going on? Are all people working in vicinity of ramp aware of what they doing and how dangerous is working on area around
aircrafts in constant movement?
I can imagine who is the fault? It is complex answer.
1- airport facilities design not the best because to have ground vehicles passing between taxiway and aircraft parking, slots, gates, whatever. This airport on north terminal have those ground vehicles ways. The other terminals doesn’t exist that.
2 - distraction of ground vehicle operator, suppose to be always in alert when is moving there. The distractions is induce by many ways such lacking of training, use cellular phones, etc. I saw every day on ramp people making mistakes because are distracted by some calls by is cellular phones. Now a days dispatchers use they cellular instead of old walkie talkie because he can talk with the control and get calls from his family. Distractions always in the mod! Cellulars, prohibited!
3- we can’t blame pilots because it is close tighten maneuver and ground vehicle appear on dead point of view. One think I konw and crew konw preority between aircraft and ground vehicles goes to aircraft.
4- airport manegment faults because they didn’t predict those situation.
