We want to take a moment to thank everyone who has reached out to us after reading the article in Gig Harbor Now. Out of all the publicity we have received, this local newspaper article is opening up the most outreach and collaboration opportunities for us. Be sure to follow our LinkedIn page for updates (and click the notification bell), as we have two new projects in the works and have big things planned for TitanAir and Borebots. We’d also like to thank the author, Ted Kennedy, for his careful attention to detail and his sincere interest in the non-traditional path of our founder, Quinn Morley. Quinn’s journey seems to have struck a chord with the local community. Overall this year, TitanAir has received substantial media attention, with above-the-fold coverage in 28 publications globally. Headlines have appeared in popular scientific and tech-oriented outlets such as GeekWire, Yahoo, Gizmodo, Engadget, Interesting Engineering, PCMag, IFLScience, Tech Times, Universe Today, and more, emphasizing the wide interest in our project. Earlier this year, TitanAir was featured on the front page of the science section of both Fox News and CNN. “This broad media exposure is a testament to the innovative nature of our initiative,” said the Principal Investigator for TitanAir, Quinn Morley, “there is just something about a flying boat mission to another planet—with the goal of ‘tasting’ the methane rain and seas—that resonates with everyone.” Planet Enterprises is pushing the boundaries of innovation, capturing worldwide interest in the future of space exploration. #creativity #technology #innovation #future https://lnkd.in/gYWHKcZ7

WISS Meets Sandra Nilsson, co-founder and COO at Arctic Space Technologies!🚀 ⭐ What’s your profession and what do you do at work on a regular week? I have a masters degree in space engineering from Luleå university of Technology. However my job revolves around so much more than that! I do everything from board work and HR to information security implementation and more administrative office tasks. Being part of a management team can often mean wearing many different hats, and that's also what makes my job so exciting! ⭐ What’s the best thing with your job? It's hard to pick one! I love to see how quick our company is growing, all that hard work we’re putting in is really paying off. Sometimes it's even hard to keep up, which makes the job even more exciting. I’ve also really appreciated the opportunity to travel a lot with my work, often together with our CEO aka my life partner. I feel so grateful to be on this journey with him and the rest of my team. ⭐What do you answer when someone asks why space is important? For many reasons! A lot of technologies we utilize on Earth were first developed for "space reasons". It’s been shown that drug development in space can be of great benefit! Special environmental conditions such as high radiation, vacuum and microgravity make it possible to use other manufacturing methods and materials in space! Space plays a big role in human development and the more you learn about it the more exciting it becomes! ⭐Which are your tips to someone who’s interested in starting a space related company? Most industries have some connection to space, which makes it such a diverse and exciting topic. This also opens many doors, and the industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world! A good first step is to learn a lot about the industry, try to understand the upcoming demands from different markets and use the assets available to you. One of the most important steps is probably to create a great team. That's the secret behind the success of Arctic Space Technologies! Thanks for inspiring us Sandra!🚀 #wissmeets #womeninspacesweden #sandranilsson #arcticspacetechnologies #spacecompany #spacebusiness

As we continue to explore and utilize space for scientific, commercial, and communication purposes, the issue of #SpaceDebris has become a growing concern. In the #SpaceIndustry, everyone knows about it, but this issue is overlooked by the general public. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗶𝘀? 🛠️💫 Space debris, also known as orbital debris or space junk, refers to defunct satellites, spent rocket stages, and fragments from collisions or explosions in orbit around the Earth. These objects pose a threat to operational satellites and can potentially endanger future space missions. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆? 🌐🛰️ The exponential growth in space activities over the years has contributed to an increase in the number of objects in orbit - there are over 100 millions of them and only around 10’000 are active satellites (0.01%)! As a result, collisions between debris and operational satellites have become more and more likely, leading to potential disruptions in all services provided by satellites, such as communication, navigation, and weather monitoring systems. The presence of space debris also poses a risk to the International Space Station and future space exploration endeavors. 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 🌍🚀 Just as it happens on Earth when tackling issues such as climate change, addressing the challenge of space debris requires global cooperation and innovative solutions. Initiatives such as improved space debris tracking and collision avoidance, responsible satellite disposal practices, and the development of debris removal technologies are crucial steps towards ensuring the sustainability of our activities in space. Let's come together as a community to raise awareness, support research and development efforts, and advocate for responsible space practices. By fostering collaboration and investing in sustainable space exploration, we can work towards a future where the benefits of space are maximized, and the risks are minimized. 🌌🤝 Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas on this critical issue! 💬 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀! 🌍🚀 You don’t need to be a space engineer to work towards space sustainability - at Ecosmic we are currently looking for software developers and we also strongly encourage open applications from people with different backgrounds. We are firm believers that interdisciplinarity and diversity foster creativity and innovation. You can reach out to us or apply for an open position here: https://lnkd.in/dpfUcGri Learn more about space debris and Ecosmic: https://lnkd.in/dRQRNpKd #SpaceExploration #CollaborationForSpace #SpaceSustainability #SpaceDebrisMitigation #LongTermSustainability #LTS #CleanSpace #thoughtsoftheday
