Take care of your people, and your people will take care of you. Simple as that.
Store openings are hard. They are long and tiring and we ask so much of not just the store opening team but those supporting as well, which means still running their own business from afar while juggling it all. So when I texted my new store manager and asked if I could get anyone a Starbucks on the way in this morning to the NSO, unfortunately his response was expected. “Should I ask everyone or just the management?” This innocent (and respectful) response hurt my heart because it’s the norm in retail (he’s still new and getting to know me, so I’ll give him a free pass 😉) Management gets the perks. The lunches, the attention, the accolades but it’s the sales associates that are our front line. The champions of the store and where the service level starts. Take care of your people… all your people, and watch your business, service level and retention of both internal and external customer soar. Here’s to another great opening at TNF - it’s been a blast getting to know, laugh and bond with everyone on the team! 🙌🏻

Luxury & retail specialist, Public Speaker, Leadership & Sales Training facilitator. Coach. Head Hunter. Founder of Training Luxury
And he or she will save the world! This is an image of how the job description of a Luxury Store Manager looks like. Skills, competences and duties that the Store manager role require in several cases sound more like a casting for an 'Avenger' movie than for a retail position. Store manager is definitely the catalyser of most of the company activities. However, needs the right support to perform all the tasks that sound always like 'Defcon 1' Sometimes, creating the right expectations and focusing on what truly is relevant is the best way to succeed. #luxurybrands #storemanager #competences #leadershipdevelopment #traininganddevelopment #superhero #settingboundaries

one thing that always let me know I was a good General Manager was when my District Manager and my Regional Manager would wanna have sit down meetings with me and say what can we do to make you happy and satisfied and make sure you won't leave us we will do whatever it takes because we need more "RiRi's" Rihanna like you your an out going employee and does whatever it takes to get the job done your definitely one of the best I was given a raise of the amount I requested they would brag to other Districts about me saying how I would go from my store to other stores that had no GM or AM and get it back into shape quickly like deep cleaning if needed and the proper way of training employees the correct way on how to do their jobs some employees had to be terminated but were replaced and then I started working on getting the sales back up and at times even higher then the sales were before I was even sent to stores where the whole entire crew walked out because their General Manager quit so I hired a completely new crew and trained them all the proper way then we had to heavily deep clean the store then work on drastically increasing store sells while serving the customers all at the same time and yes there were times when I ran the store by myself but I never complained because that was my decision that's what I wanted to do I am so proud I have my mother's work ethic... The transition from store manager to area manager in retail is one of the hardest to make. You go from directly leading and creating exceptional customer experiences in one location to leading store managers who do this. REMOTELY. Suddenly there's way less comfort zone of selling and way more communication with those that are now doing what you do standing on your head. Trust and empowerment become your best friends while time management and planning are essential to a great week. All this while you meaningfully communicate from your car or a shopping mall sofa trying to understand how your customer and team are feeling from afar, before you visit stores and give insight to coach your store managers. Oh and being the seamless two way conduit between head office and stores, that too. And all the rest, did I mention the traffic and the carparks and the ubers and the airports? We've created a very special new series for this group of retailers because we know it's a tough gig but when done well your store managers thrive which means so does the team so your customers can experience what you'd do if you were right there in front of them. DM us if you'd like to explore if the series is right for your team.
