Effective July 1, 2024 Chicago's paid sick leave law has been replaced with the Chicago Paid Leave and Paid Sick and Safe Leave Ordinance. The existing law required employers to allow eligible employees to accrue up to 40 hours of paid sick leave. This requirement remains, and the new law will allow employees to accrue up to 40 hours of paid time off, which may be used for any reason. Need additional guidance or assistance navigating the new requirements?
