Like many fundraisers and charity trustees, access to local banking facilities has become ever harder as more local bank branches close. Three banks closed their branches here in Chiswick, west London, in the past 6 months. Paying in cash, raised through tickets sold for events, traditional cash based community fundraising activities such as flag days and fetes, is no longer a straightforward process. Online banking works for most, but not all, fundraising activities, and we recognise that charity supporters may prefer to use cash too. On the other hand, accessing the charity’s bank account to make payments can be restricted by the banks’ own processes. So fellow fundraisers and trustees: I would urge you to register your views in the Charity Finance Directors Group survey on this important topic.

1moI had the opportunity to spend a few days there with several dealer customers and others from Ally. It could not have been a better experience for all that attended.
