How will you live with purpose in 2024?
I think it’s always beneficial to consider from time to time how we are living into our purpose. There are three pillars to purpose that have helped me along the way:
First, purpose is built on a life lived in service to others. Mother Teresa, the renowned humanitarian, once said, “The fruit of love is service, which is compassion in action.”
Secondly, pursue your calling with passion. Once you understand your calling, you can align your decisions to further propel you toward your calling.
Lastly, be a beacon of hope to a world in need. Nelson Mandela immediately comes to mind. Despite spending decades in prison, Mandela never lost hope. He went on to become his nation’s first Black president, inspiring generations to come – in his country and globally.
As Mandela said, “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”
When distractions or detours cross your path, tether yourself to your purpose and consider these pillars. Together, they will help shape a legacy that inspires and brightens the path for generations to come.
