In 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) gave us a comprehensive plan for a sustainable world by 2030. The 17 goals cover a wide range of issues that involve people with different needs, values, and convictions. There is a vision of what needs to happen, but progress along this vision has so far been disappointing. We lack the inner capacity to deal with our increasingly complex environment and challenges. Fortunately, modern research shows that the inner abilities we now all need can be developed. This was the starting point for the 'Inner Development Goals' initiative. The IDGs framework consists of five dimensions organizing 23 skills and qualities of human inner growth and development. Bart Coone, this Framework is a prerequisite for organizations that want "self-managed teams' to be successful, cfr your post tomorrow.

Taking the #Power of #Love #HumanEnergy #Intellectual #Shamans to #Pragmatic #SystemsThinking #HumanFlourishing #SustainableSolutions #UNPRME #Governments #Business #Education #GlobalChallenges #GlobalGoals 🌟 Fordham Gabelli School of Business
The “Transforming Business and Education for Flourishing – Rethinking Foundations and Practice” conference, which was recently hosted by the International Humanistic Management Association and Michael Pirson, Ph.D., James A.F. Stoner Endowed Chair in Global Sustainability, Chair of the Leading People and Organizations Area, and Director of the Center for Humanistic Management at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, received coverage in the Financial Times by Andrew Jack, Global Education Editor. The feature appeared in the “Business School Insider,” newsletter and focused on the conference’s core thrust of discussing a field designed to—in Pirson’s words—“create sustainable flourishing on Earth rather than short-term wealth.” Congratulations to all on a wonderful conference and on this prominent coverage.

What progress have you made so far this year? I don’t say this to be judgy. No! I say this to encourage you to pause to notice that in the past six months things have shifted. Last week, as part of my championing Sustainable Ambition, I held my quarterly review check-in session. I love the learning I get from this activity both for myself in looking back and in hearing what pausing to check-in does for others. In just 60 minutes, we can shift how we're feeling, write our own narrative about what’s transpired, and be intentional about how we want to shape the quarter ahead. Plus, we’re able to celebrate the progress we’ve made. I believe an important part of making our pursuits sustainable is to make them personally meaningful and motivating to us. Seems reasonable, right? And according to research, making progress on meaningful work that matters to us personally is one of our top motivators around our work. As you pause at this mid-point of the year, where do you want to honor and celebrate the work you’ve put in and the progress made? Share with us below!
