Friday Update: Progress Report on My 💯-Mile Walk🚶♂️Challenge in Support of Cancer Research UK (CRUK)! I'm excited to share that I've been keeping up a solid pace, averaging 6.39 miles per day (~10.3 km) throughout February. You can check out the screenshot in the comments below for proof 👌. While I'm making strides with my walking, I could use a bit more momentum on the fundraising front 😁. Currently, I've reached 💷 £45 (+10 in Gift Aid) in donations (big 🙌 THANK YOU to everyone), but I still have a bit to go to hit the fundraiser target. As we approach our 20 years of giving, we are proud to re-introduce the Lynne King Cancer Care Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting those whose cancer journey is made more challenging by their circumstances. Our mission is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients by helping them fundraise for their care and giving 100% of what is raised. Lynne King was a beacon of compassion and resilience. Her journey through cancer, marked by unwavering courage and an indomitable spirit, inspired the creation of our foundation. Even as she battled her illness, Lynne's focus was always on how her condition affected her family and those around her rather than herself. As her husband, Reg King, beautifully put it, "She spent her life caring about others. Even throughout her own cancer journey, her attention was always focused on what it was doing to her family and those around her rather than the impact it was having on herself. 🌟 Team CFS is on a Mission! 🌟 This April, Team CFS are stepping outside of our comfort zone and pushing ourselves to a limit that many of us are now realising is tougher than originally thought. The challenge, to perform 100 push-ups every day in April. 💪 Each day of the month, each member of our dedicated team will be doing 100 push-ups to raise awareness and collect donations for Cancer Research UK (CRUK). This arduous task is not just a test of our physical limits but a symbol of our commitment to supporting those affected by cancer. That's 3000 push-ups each, 21,000 in total 😅 🖤 Cancer touches the lives of so many people, directly and indirectly. It's a battle that requires strength, resilience, and community support to fight. Cancer is a battle that too many of us are familiar with. Whether directly or indirectly, we’ve all felt the impact of this devastating disease. I’ve personally lost family members, and watched as my closest friends said goodbye to their loved ones. The journey that follows a cancer diagnosis is unlike any other. It’s a unique challenge, not just for the one fighting it, but for their loved ones too. This year, I’ve decided to do my part by participating in the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer, proudly representing Team ATCO. The challenge? 200 KM bike ride over two days. Our goal? To raise funds that will enable the Alberta Cancer Foundation to act swiftly when new breakthroughs emerge, replace costly medical equipment, and support patient care needs as they arise. Last year, Team ATCO made its debut in the Ride, with just 20 riders raising an impressive $100,000. This year we are going bigger! Each one of us is committed to raising a minimum of $2,500. Our collective goal? To shatter last year’s record by aiming for a new target of $150,000! By donating to this cause, you’re not just supporting cancer patients and their families.
