'In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.' - John Muir Among whispering trees, Aman Kyoto's secret gardens evoke a serene pace of life. As Geshi, the Japanese solstice, approaches, the subtle sounds and earthy scents invite a moment of calm and reflection, served to a chorus of birdsong in the mellow light of summer. https://lnkd.in/gbq_mUE #TheSpiritofAman

Proportions are what makes the old Greek temples classic in their beauty. They are like huge blocks, from which the air has been literally hewn out between the columns. 349.Be the Light in the Darkness When faced with darkness, become a beacon of light. Be an exemplar of humility, civility, patience, compassion, kindness, sincerity, and-above all-calmness. Acting with positive energy doesn’t just make other people happy. It makes you happy too! You might even make a few friends along the way. 1. Sit with a straight spine. Close your eyes and tune in to your heart as you breathe naturally in a slow pattern. 2. Visualize a beautiful temple. See yourself crossing a peaceful lake that washes away all negativity as you prepare to enter the temple. 3. Let the temple light embrace you as the inner sound of tinkling bells rings out of your presence. 4. Call forth an individual with whom you’ve had a negative encounter. 5. Welcome him or her into the temple’s sacred space. 6. Observe how the darkness dissipates once you act with compassion. 7. Fix your thoughts on the good in all hearts. 8. Rest in the healing light of friendship. Rome, 08.04.2023

We must honor what came before us, and do our best to relocate our trees. 🌳 It’s a matter of priorities. Japanese method of moving a 70 ton large tree! The tree had been hoisted and tethered and set on stout horizontal wooden beams with rollers on wooden tracks to guide its movement 10 meters back into the park. There were even traditional words for the front rollers – Kanzashi – and the back rollers Okagura! The retention of ancient wisdom, the reverence for ancient trees, the respect for nature, the persistence of ancient values rang out in the claps of the 70 workers who rejoiced at their success in moving the old tree and the joy of by standers who had watched the slow process. https://buff.ly/4bHsqYg
