Evolution of PCB design from Sign Writing to Bishop Graphics Tape to CAD tools, what has changed from 1970s or earlier to this day? The level of Artistic Talent and Imagination required must have changed over the years. Scope for error was limited in the early days.
🕰️ The Art of Circuit Board Design in the 1980s Today I'm Sharing My Circuit Board Design Days from the 80s. Here's a photo of me back in the 80s, working on circuit board design using a light table. It was all about bishop graphics tape and donuts in those days. It's incredible to reflect on how much technology has evolved, but the excitement of innovation remains the same. Love remembering where it all began! Do you Remember Nexus? #TechJourney #CircuitBoardDesign #80sTech #TechThrowback #CircuitBoardDesign #80sTech #HandsOnHistory #nexus

Did you know - You can save a screenshot of every frame of a Vulkan or Direct3D 12 application? Step 1: Capture the graphics commands with GFXReconstruct. Step 2: Use "gfxrecon-replay --screenshot-all" to save frames on replay (use "--screenshots" to specify a frame list). Advanced: Use this technique to save test images for comparison to a golden reference. A tech tip from LunarG!

Rubylith. Draw pattern on paper. Locate on light table-coordinatograph. Overlay mylar with ruby film. Cut pattern. Peel by hand the ruby film. Transfer to vertical light table. Load glass plate with photosensitive coating into camera system in dark room (door closed, special light level). Trigger camera to expose. Remove and develop. Load into fab room for circuit etching. Some companies were set up such that the engineer could do this herself. She could cut draw, cut, automatically knowing how accurate the different sections needed to be to speed things along. She could then peel, expose, develop, and load into fab room. A new circuit could be ordered as fast as the engineer could draw and expose-develop. Highly expeditible. The standout company example for this process would be Avantek, a now defunct Santa Clara company, once rapidly growing and profitable-a microwave component, semiconductor, subsystem, and digital radio manufacturer.
