NH3 Leak on a Hybrid Vehicle 🚗 The video below shows the dispersion from an accidental NH3 gas release under a hybrid vehicle tank. The leak being hotter than the surrounding air, it goes up by natural convection. This scenario was simulated on Star-CCM+ with a multispecies approach, and the wrapper was used to retrieve the car skin. The resulting NH3 pockets concentration were compared to the toxic effect thresholds given by INERIS. Other scenarios with wind, and car in a covered parking were also analyzed.
